The capital city is of Lome has a special distinction; it is
the only border city capital city in the
world . It is a mixture of traditional
life and the modern. A tour around gives
an interesting past time to any stranger, with its voodoo charms,
lotions and potions ; the market places and so on.
Togoville is a town interesting to people
who are interested in history. The century old treaty between the Germns and
the tribal ruler Mlapa III was signed in this town.
The local chief can show the copy
of the treaty proudly to any one interested. There
are numerous voodoo shrines in the same village and
churches built by the Germans.
Lake Togo is
popular with water sports . Another attraction is the town , Aného, Togo’s colonial capital
until 1920. The historic aspects are
preserved in a clear colonial atmosphere;
the churches and cemeteries and 19th
century colonial houses of architectural value.
